Rifles/shotguns for the hunting or competition purpose are permitted for civilians to afford with llicense. Hand guns are also allowed for 50 civilians but they must be Olympic competitors.




 
We don't have so many shooting ranges as in the U.S. but heard that a Yakuza purchased a mountain in the countryside to use it as a shooting range
But do you have to have Yakuza Tattoos to use it? 10 years ago I had a coworker that had to wear long sleeve shirts to cover his "sleeves" tattoos to enter the better restaurants or the casino in Kumamoto!
 
The company I have work for the last 14 years is based in Kumamoto. Hirata. I was there to assist in the assembly of three GM engine Cold test machines, as the company was short of manpower in Japan. I have visited Japan 3 times as an employee of Hirata. But the last time was in the spring of 2016. I am sure there have been many changes sense then. Including the earthquake that hit the area a few weeks after I returned the the US.
