We don't have so many shooting ranges as in the U.S. but heard that a Yakuza purchased a mountain in the countryside to use it as a shooting rangeI have a couple black powder (cap & Ball) pistols and they are fun to shoot.
They are a bit complex to operate, since you have to go through several steps to load them.

I see. Thanks!The company I have work for the last 14 years is based in Kumamoto. Hirata. I was there to assist in the assembly of three GM engine Cold test machines, as the company was short of manpower in Japan. I have visited Japan 3 times as an employee of Hirata. But the last time was in the spring of 2016. I am sure there have been many changes sense then. Including the earthquake that hit the area a few weeks after I returned the the US.

Miroku manufactures some high quality firearms and Sumitomo makes the Type 62 MG (7.62x51) and the J2 HMG (.50 cal.) for the JDF.
Also of note, is firearm manufacturer MinebeaMitsumi, who is the parent company of Nambu.
