Why it doesn't fit the fuselage? Looking very nice I would say.

It does now, I had to shave off the outside of the cockpit and the inside of the fuselage along with the wing. Fuselage is so thin now you can almost see through it !!

Replaced the exhaust pipes in the kit with ones I mad from beer can aluminum. The kit ones don't fit at all without looking goofy and blocking the opening they come out of entirely. Then a base coat and a lot of masking. I ended up using the RLM colours as they are but the RLM 63 I added several drops of Russian brown to make it less greenish looking. So far so good. Clear coated with gloss and ready for decals.

I think it's called a jewelers die. It has progressively smaller tapered holes. You cut a strip of metal and pull it through each hole and it curls it into a tube and stretches it out. Very handy. I also have one that makes square tubes.

I got these in a bunch of stuff I salvaged from an EX Sister in law. It was mostly lapidary stuff and silver crafting stuff.
