Hello again you guys!

I thought you all might like to see my Kyushu J7W2 Shinden that I finished. An engaging build that turned out great.

Please look over my notes and photos on this build and please leave a comment!

I have always loved the look of this aircraft. What a unique design for that time in WWII.

Very nice models - I think I've already seen the silver one earlier, somewhere else.
One question though: why are you calling your models J7W2? I expected to see the turbojet what-if version, but both yours are propeller-driven. IMHO both should be J7W1, the one is the prototype, the silver one is the production one.
BTW, I watched a recent Japanese Godzilla-movie (they pronounce Godzilla like Godjira or so), called "Godzilla Minus One". In the movie a young pilot flies that prototype and makes a kamikaze-attack, killing Godzilla - the plane explodes in the monster's mouth! I think I already mentioned it somewhere in this forum.
Cheers!

In response to your Godzilla movie..... Here is another J7W1 Shinden animation movie....

"The Sky Crawlers" a interesting animated movie show casing excellent J7W1 images and other aircraft! "Oriental movie" with strangely illustrated characters and very detailed hardware. And, a good plot to boot.

Thanks for your input and viewing my build.

That's not "Shinden" per se though! It's SANKA Mk.1B AFAIR. I was a fan of the anime and pretty interested in the "development" of this airplane. Loved the counter-rotating propellers!
Wanted to buy the model (in 1:48) - was too expensive for me at the time. Now the price is probably exploding.
Cheers!

Hey Catch...... you are correct! I just went on to view it.....same plane. The model looked like a German color scheme though. Ebay- $68.00!!! My build was to represent an early Spring 1946 version.... when the cherry trees started to bloom in Japan.

And even for less (under $50)! The answer is, they issued a new model this year (the first one was from 2008) and saturated the market I believe. Thank you for the reminder!
