Hi Lex,
My records show that Lancaster B Mk III. serial JB611 coded AR-R of 460 squadron was lost on the night 2-3 December 1943
It was a bad night for for 460 squadron, as they lost 5 lancasters on that night mission to berlin.
The details on JB611 are patchy to say the least - All I can confirm is that it took off from RAF Binbrook crashed near Doberitz. (records from the national archives at Kew)
Crew:
Squadron leader E.G.M. Corser DFC MID RAAF
Flight Sergeant W.W. Harrington
Flight Sergeant A.J.J. Brown RAAF
Sergeant W.A.Young
Sergeant L.R.Price
Sergeant H.G.Keymer
W/O L.A.Kent DFC RAAF
Six of the crew have no known graves and are listed at Runnymede, but the Pilot Sdn Ldr Corser, is buried in the 1939-1945 War cemetery at Berlin.
May They all Rest in Peace...
