Hi all, I hope someone on here can help me find my fathers war record. I believe he was a flight engineer and I'm sure (almost) that his plane was Lancaster PB226, I think he may have been in 460 squadron, an Aussi squad I believe. His name was Douglas Adair. Many thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

Write to the Air Historical Branch with as much detail as you have about your father. They will be able to help. Google "Air Historical Branch" and you should find a means of contacting them. They typically ask for written letters simply because their staff is too small to be constantly answering emails. I've worked with AHB on several occasions and found them to be hugely helpful and knowledgeable about all RAF-related records.

Hope this helps...a little.

Thanks buffnut, thats great, I'll give it a go and see where I get, thanks again.

A paid helping hand to find Records for the Australian Military Forces( 5 $ aud) http://www.ozatwar.com/wwiiresearchtool.htm

Also found this picture from Australian War Memorial. If you google "460 SQUADRON coded AR-G" you get a wealth of history, pictures and crew pictures.
