I was wondering if there is a online list of japanese flight groups. I'm trying to research an early, pre wwii set of goggles, that have the characters "Dai Ju Buntai Yon Ga", which translate to, depending on if its IJA or IJN:
10th Squad, Number 4 (IJA)
10th Division, Number 4 (IJN)
I'm trying to find out more about this flight group, where they were stationed, members, history, etc.
Prior to 1944, I believe for the IJN, a Buntai referred to a 9 plane group, while after, it referred to a pair. I believe these goggles are early IJN versus IJA, but they are private purchase.
