Looking for a name for this quote.

Hey, my grandpa told me a little while back about a Scottish (or British) general at the end of World War Two (believe it was in Italy or Sicily), who said "Well men, its time to leave our lovers and return to our wives."
Does anyone know who said this quote, it has been bugging me for a little bit. Thanks. FF.
