Norwegian IXes were repainted with a clone of the RAF Day Fighter scheme but the colors were local produced. What I've seen the dark grey was pretty much the same as Ocean Grey. Underside color was similar to US ADC Grey (FS 16473). One I'm confused on is the dark green. Only discription I've seen is it is the same as RAF Dark Green but browner. Anybody have an idea of an FS (BSC,RAL, RLM) color that is close?

These were the non standard colours. So it is impossible to talk about the FS numbers, etc ... Although the Norwegian Spitfire Mk. IXs were repainted, the original camouflage pattern was used as a guide. The new paint was applied by freehand, which gave a variation in the pattern. The new paint was locally manufactured by Bengalac and did not exacltly match the British hues.

The colours were:

- Dark Green - more greenish than RAF Dark Green. One source says - more brownish, between Xtracolor X1 and X112, or a bit darker than Humbrol 155
- Grey - not known. Possible not very different from Ocean Grey.
- Light Grey- something between BS318C/627 Light Aircraft Grey and FS36473 ADC Gray or something between Xtracolor X15 and X138

The roundels were 900mm on the wings and 600mm on the fuselage. The codes were 500mm high. The markings were now standarised in size.
