Advanced trainer version of the Nakajima Ki-27 fighter from the Akeno Flying School. Plane has been re-engined,wheel spats removed, tailskid replaced by tailwheel and the canopy left off. Kit is an old Hasegawa in 1/72 scale.

Thanks guys. This was a pre-war fighter used right up to the end of the war as a trainer and Kamikaze. I believe the engine shortages at the end of the war contrubuted to the change. Possibly a power issue also. Yes that is a gun sight. I'm not sure why it is still mounted on the trainer but the photos show it.
