So my husband is a pilot and previously applied instructor and I have attached a framed image of an actual blueprint he was gifted by a former student. As you can see it's pretty faded from sun exposure prior to getting curtains in our living room. I would really like to replace this for him does anyone have any ideas where to start?

This is not quite the same illustration yours was taken from, but I think it may be the image yours is based on. It was originally published in the 'Aeroplane' magazine back in the 1940s.

If you have Photoshop (or similar) image modification software and know how to use it, or if you give this to someone with the same software, it can be easily modified to match your wall picture. It might be worthwhile doing some unsharp masking(image sharpening) and colour shifting before printing. Then you can take it to a UPS or similar store to have it printed out on heavy paper and to the size you desire. I think this image is approximately 57.5" x 30.5" when printed out full size. You should not use the image to make money, or produce and distribute in any numbers beyond what you have said you are using it for, as the copyright may still be held by 'Aeroplane' magazine or its current holding company.

Would it be possible to get the original scanned & then enhanced, sharpened, colour freshened sort of thing. Asking around some commercial print shops near you should get a response.
