On page 282 of Manfred Griehl's book German Luftwaffe Prototypes 1930-1945 there is a photo of the Messerschmitt Me 163B V13 (VD+EV), which is listed as the first prototype for the Me 163D, which was basically an Me 163 design marrying the tricycle landing gear and powerplant of the Me 263 with the Me 163B fuselage. Even though some sources claim that Me 163B V18 was the first Me 163D prototype, Griehl's book shows that this was not the case because VD+EV was the first Me 163 airframe to serve an Me 163D airframe.
