The project of the Ta 154 A - Fw 190 A-8 Beethoven link aircraft. In the Luftwaffe, the link between an unmanned bomber and a fighter was originally called "Beethoven" ("Beethoven") or "Father and Son" ("Vater und Sohn"). However, oddly enough, the nickname "Dung Team" ("Mistelgespann"), or simply "Mistel" was most widely used. In July 1943, with the consent of the technical department of the Ministry of Aviation, Junkers converted 15 test program of the Mistel complex. At the same time, work began on the creation of a special shaped charge weighing 4000 kg, which was soon tested on the old French battleship "Ocean" ("LOcean"), which was in the harbor of Toulon. Calculations showed that the charge could penetrate armor up to 50 cm thick and a layer of reinforced concrete several meters long. Due to its peculiar shape with an elongated conical fairing, this charge was nicknamed "Elephant Trunk" ("Elefantenrussel")
