My first build in over 40 years, a retro build of the Monogram 1/48 FW-190. This kit was my first serious build as a teen. I built it stock from the box. I should have ordered new decals, the 40 year old decals yellowed, and lifted. I practiced with pastels and oil finishing, and probably over did it.

I agree with all above. Just a note .. even if a brush is used for painting of the frame of the cockpit hood and windscreens, the masking tape is useful as well.

I used an Iwata gravity airbrush, with Valejo RLM colors. The greens are washed out by over weathering with the Pastel / water slurry. Next build is a new Tamiya A6M. The retro Monogram kits are fun, as a teenager Monogram 1/48 was about all I built. The mold stamp was 1965 on the kit. The kit holds up well.
