My time in a B25 Mitchell

My sons, Dean and Mario, provided me with the thrill of a lifetime. For an early birthday present, they booked me a ride on a WWII B25 Mitchell Bomber. Wow, what a ride. The flights are so popular, they booked it in back in January, but kept it secret from me.

I thought that they were taking me to the 'Commemorative Air Force' in Mesa, AZ to view the old military planes (formerly known as the 'Confederate Air Force', but political correctness killed that name). As we were entering the building, my son Dean asked "Care to take a ride in a B25, Dad?".

Wow, what a surprise. They had me seated in the flight deck; right behind the pilots. Also had the opportunity to crawl to the nose position where the bomb sight and a Ma Deuce was waiting. For the first few seconds I was on the deck of the USS Hornet with Jimmy Doolittle, taking off for the Japanese home islands.

What a thrill for a WWII buff. Thought that I'd share it with you all.
