A friend of mine is wanting to find out about her grandfather, where he served in WW2 and what he did. All she knows is that he was in the Army, and spent time in Guadalcanal. He passed away when she was 6, so she doesn't know much. Apparently he didn't talk much, and drank more, so none of the family knows anything either. I know there's sites out there that will let folks look up military records if you have a name/service number, but I don't have any of those bookmarked. Anybody know where I should start?
