Need Help Translating Writing on WWII Japanese Tanto

Hello everyone.
I recently purchased a WWII Tanto that has Japanese writing on its blade. I would be extremely grateful if someone could translate what it says.

If you download Google Translate to your phone, it's got a "photo" function where you'll see a translation right on your phone. I'm not a huge Google fan, but this one does seem to work.
