This is technically not WWII engine, but I hope you can help me find any pictures of it. So far I only stumble upon its tandem V24 version AS-6 from Schneider cup winner Macchi MC72 plane.
Any ideas?

There are a couple of photos in "The Schneider Trophy Story" by Edward Eves. I don't remember coming across any on the net.

Weak Force Press of Huntsville, AL produce a CD of "Aerosphere 1939" by Glenn D. Angle for a reasonable price which can be ordered on the Net.
This contains good descriptions of all the Fiat engines up to 1939 but not, unfortunately, the mighty A.S.8.

Thank you for a tip! That seems to be THE book for my needs.
