All right you Lightning experts out there, got a question concerning P-38L S/N 44-25092. What V-1710 engine pair did it have, the dash 89/91 or 111/113?

And by this stage in the war were all P-38s delivered from the factory with bomb racks?

That P-38L and almost every one except first couple of L-5 had the F30 (-113/-115)

Bomb racks were installed in prototype and kits on the P-38E/F-4 and in production on the P-38F.

Provisions for 10 zero launch rocket stubs into the P-38L series.

The earliest P-38's had smaller drop tanks that were mounted close to the wing and proved to be unsatisfactory both in terms of fuel capacity and in drag and separation characteristics. They were modified in the field with larger tanks and longer pylons.

Thanks for the link MIFlyer, I'll have to read it once the family goes to bed tonight and I can finally have a minute to myself!
