Hello all,
I need some help. I am looking for a website/book that tells the story of a P-38 squad (post-Normandy) that duke it out with a Fw190 Jabo unit in France.
The ground attack P-38s are based way too close to a neighboring FW base. When they discover each other they have a series of running fights that last for several days - the French in the area call it "the day(s) the sky caught fire". Nasty stuff.
I am sorry that I can not offer more info - somehow I lost the site (or it is gone now?) I would like to do more research on the squads involved.
