P-51D-5NA Special project number

Hi everyone. I am trying to find out what the "AAF.Special Project Number" on the stencilled data block on the fuselage for this particular P-51D-5NA would be.

It is serial number 44-13273 and was with the 55th FG, shot down on 11 September 1944.

From its serial number would it be possible to deduce a "Special project number"?

Serial number mix-up. The correct number is 44-13723. CG✪T. Nothing on the 'Special Project". From Joe Baugher...

Thanks fubar57...serial number error was all mine...finger trouble! That is indeed the aircraft that I was mentioning. As far as I know there is almost no way of accurately tying up serial numbers to special project numbers...

The special project number directed the Mustang to a specific theatre/destination. Offhand I don't know how many variations there were but the variations should be few
