This is a rather whimsical title but it was what I thought when I got to this point.
I think this might be sealant over seams or corrosion prevention but that is pure speculation. There are gaps in the coverage and I wish there had been time stamps to tell how long this took. At minutes 4 to 5, it looks like there was a problem with the green on the spine, it's painted, then sanded off and repainted. Some of the markings like the serial are hand painted (8:05) and some look like painted stencils. An interesting look at how the real planes are painted. Here is the "Finished" shot.
