quite the story. I bet the bomber would have been blown out of the sky as soon as it got within range of the German AA guns.(my 1st post! )

Interesting story! I once read of a B17 that did an op in germany when it was hit by flak. the crew bailed out but the fort kept flying until it ditched near a small town. I think i read it in the Aeroplane magazine. anyway. This is one of the millions of stories that makes the ww2 so interesting..
