That's another Nazi cloud cuckoo that was designed so the designer wouldn't be sent to the Russian front! It never existed, other than a wind tunnel model.

thats a good reason 4 desighning such an aircraft. but i think, if the engine for the lift would be powerfull enoug to lift the whole thing, it could fly. ok, 4 hovering it would need smal stabilizer props, but i think it could have worked.

No it wouldn't The US was attempting designs like that throughout the 50s and into the 60s, it's a flop. The closest you can get is a Hovercraft. Helicopters are much more practical, and the new breed is in the Osprey.

The Canadian Avrocar, built with USAF funding, was similar to that design. The Avrocar was virtually uncontrollable in anything but a hover, and it couldn't get out of ground effect. An interesting flop, but necessary, if only to show where not to go.

and thats why it needed smal stabilizer engines, similar as those in a harrier. without them, even a harier couldnt fly.

The Harrier is a completely different concept. It uses jet thrust to lift itself off the ground, and keeps control because the thrusters a directly under the aircraft. Even then, it only has 90 seconds hover time.

nope, ure wrong on that one....

the harier has litle thrusters on the tips of its wing to keep his ballance. otherwise, it couldnt hover ;)

mind the litle black square u c on the tip of the wing. thats the exhaust of the thruster

Yes, but the balancing effect comes from the two sets of central rotating nozzles, which simultaneously provide thrust.
The wing-tip nozzles are for manoeuvring, primarily.

Nice pic, btw!
