Hello all,

I recently came up with a propellor blade and would like to find out what it is from. It appears to be very WWII to me, but know nothing about it so...

Info from the blade:

Serial no: 93578
Assembly A-20-156-24M

Someone else thought it may have come off of a 3-blade p-51 or maybe a c-47(?) skytrain?

Aeroproducts propeller - the blade P/N was used on type certificated P-51s with hub P/N A542A

Hey Dorkpunch, that is an awesome find! My dad has a complete hub/blade assembly from a Fw 190-it belonged to the plane my great-grandfather flew during WW2. He of course survived the war.8) It's a family heirloom.

Okay, so assuming its from a P-51, any idea which model or what year it might have been used? What is something like this worth?

I believe (though I could be wrong) that the blad is from a P-51b. Worth=around 50,000-100,000 bucks, even more for a complete assembly (hub, etc.).

I know Flyboyj said it's a P-51 prop, but didn't the P-40 use a similar blade? If so, then the blade is worth even more.

Sometimes aircraft used the same prop combo with minor modications to the hub.

I doubt if it's from a P51B, as the Aero Products prop wasn't used until the P51K (not as standard fit, anyway). The B and D models used the Hamilton Standard prop, with 'cuffed' blades.

I'm guessing you meant 5,000- 10,000?!?!?
