Hiyas,
I just read in the Pape/Campbell book on the P-61 that the Smith/Tierney crew of the 422nd NFS got into a turning battle with a 110 "in the late hours of August 6", which ended when the two aircraft actually brushed into one another ("The paint on the Widow's wing leading edge had scrapings from the Messerschmitt.")
Do you have a time / location for the P-61 crew?
TIA.
