Apologies if this is in the wrong section but just wanted to share this recent find.

Came across what looks to be the remains of a 1930's ? Road sign.

I think it may have once read

RAF

Found these 2 parts near RAF Hawarden. Sadly the rest of the parts cannot be found but I will keep searching.

Gently cleaned with water, dried and a light coat of AC50 added.

Any ideas how or if it is worth displaying or mounting?

Any history or information greatly appreciated

I think "HALT" had reflectors on it, similar to the perimeter. I can't think of why that would would be a permanent sign, but perhaps it was put out when an aircraft was on the road?

IMHO it is the post warning about crossing a taxiway or runway. It looks like the sign has the red reflective lights all around it and the white reflective lights for the HALT inscriptions. But these lights there can be of the lamp type switched on when the airfield was "working". In other words the traffic sign seems to be a kind of the permitting-prohibiting one.
