One or MORE of the Japanese aircraft available in resin or some of those releases of decals I missed before I found this site.

Two on my wish list, both 1:72:

Kiwi Resin Models AESL Airtourer
VAMI Models As.65 Consul

Both rare as hen's teeth, never even seen them in the flesh.
A few more types aswell, but no- one has ever kitted them (Robinson Redwing II, Porterfield 35W, Rearwin Sportster 9000, Waco QDC, etc)

Come to think of it, a 1/48 P-51H would be nice, since I have plenty of 1/48 P-82 I have not built. An FSM article from the 1980's showed how to build a 1/32 P-51H out of 1/32 P-51D, and I guess that would work in 1/48 as well. I built the old Aurora 1/48 P-51H, sanded off the rivets, opened the cockpit, and generally tried to make it look as good as a Monogram product but it fell short.

A 1/48 P-72 would be great, but I think I can kitbash one out of a old Hawk P-47 and the cowl from a 1/48 AMT F7F.

A 1/48 P-61E would be nice but I have a number of 1/48 P-61A/B and should be able to convert one of those.

And of course a 1/32 Ercoupe 415C sure would be nice.

Okay, so these are all airplanes from 1945-46, but I am not obsessed!

Models it has a 48th H. I have one and a couple F-82's. There not bad but definitely not a Tamiya.

You could make the Jake a ceiling/ higher shelf queen with the running prop...Just stick top halves of figures above the motor parts so it looks like it's manned from lower eye level.
You are right. I don't normally do people in the cockpits, but this could be one way of hiding the shallow pit. I've seen a model with a scratched cockpit and this became my goal...maybe.Don't know this a/c very well though so details might not be 100% accurate. For me it will do the game.

Here's the model I will use as a guideline.
Cheers!
