I'm looking for a good technical reference focusing on the aircraft of the Regia Aeronautica for the pre-WWII period through WWII.

Any recommendations? I have Chris Dunning's "Courage Alone" which is excellent but sparce on technical focus on the aircraft themselves.

Try;

Italian Civil And Military Aircraft 1930-1945 [Hardcover]
Jonathan W. Thompson

Amazon has two from about $50.00.

It is an older book (1963) and while not too technical it does give basic performance and dimensions for just about any Italian aircraft of the period, including a lot of prototypes and trainer/fun aircraft. It is about 300 pages and has lots of 3 view drawings.
My edition doesn't have the best quality paper so the photographs suffer a bit in reproduction but sense ther seems little alternative I would recommend it.
