Sensational title, but certainly not a "kamikaze".
The TDR-1 was more advanced than the Fiesler Fi103 (V-1) with it's television guidance, but essentially no different.
The one neat feature of the TDR-1, is that with a cowling change, it could be piloted, though that feature was entirely different than the Fi103r.

It was also different to the Fi103 because it could, if so desired, drop a bomb or torpedo and return to base.

Not necessarily - only when it was manned for test flights, was the landing gear retained.
When it was on an operational mission, the landing gear was jettisoned.
