Thump was a regular at Atheistdiscussion.Org and people were starting to notice that he hadn't posted in quite a while. I put his user name into Google and it took me to your Board and this thread. "Shocked" is putting it mildly. We'd been frequent corresponders for years and I can only add to what has already been said. He will be missed.

I'll pass the word at AD. He had many friends there.

New user here from AD. Minimalist informed us about Thumps passing.

I dont know where to start. I knew Thump since...ca. 2018. We were like minded individuals and exchanged quite a few private messages over the years. When he suddenly fell silent a few weeks ago i started feeling uncomfortable, and my worst fears just got confirmed. Although i never met him in person or talked to him 1v1, still i felt shocked and am at an absolute loss. of words.

I know how proud your dad was of you, and he was, by all accounts a very decent man, a patriot, a humanist. Qualities in quite short supply in (too) many parts of the world nowadays. Please accept my deepest regrets and heartfelt condolences for your loss. He will be missed, even by people he never met, in parts of the world he probably has never been to. That alone would be no simple feat.

P.S.: During our conversations he directed me to this forum, but i am rather a ship-man and a plane-afficionado. Yet, in the 2000s i was a avid flight-sim enthusiast and attended quite a few airshows in the Uk (Duxford) and Germany (Hahnweide). I also have been to some museums (Sinsheim and Speyer). I have archived quite a few pics and vids, however in quality according to this time-frame. If you guys are interested i can possibly share some of those with you, and keep Thumps legacy up a bit, if that is even possible.
