Seafire and FAA Corsair

Look at how tiny the Seafire looks by comparison.




I especially like the Corsair in FAA, clipped-wing livery as it recalls Canada's last Victoria Cross action (with respect to Canada's last VC recipient, Sergeant Aubrey Cosens), when on August 9, 1945 Lieutenant Robert Hampton Gray died in action, as shown in the below painting by Canadian aviation artist Don Connolly.

Cool! The whistle from the R-2800 double wasp on the corsair is loud. The spitfire's Merlin sounds so clean compared to the Corsair's double wasp.

I think you'll find, if you check it out, that whistle comes from the oil radiators and intercoolers in the wing roots.
