It is my knowledge that most of the Bf 109G-10's manufactured featured the enlarged fin and rudder introduced on the G-6 series.
However, page 164 of Jochen Prien and Peter Rodeike's "Messerschmitt Bf 109 F, G, & K Series: An Illustrated Study" (Schiffer Publishing, 1995) shows a photo of a II./JG 52 Bf 109G-10 ("Black 7", serial unknown) with the small fin and rudder used on the G-4 and early G-6. Additionally, page 161 of the same book mentions that some G-10s did have this vertical tail installation.
Does anyone here have any photos of G-10s with the small tailfin?
