Here's an article on the Smithsonian Museum's example of the Arado Ar234. The speed comparison to Allied fighters is greatly oversimplified, but there's some interesting historical tidbits and a cool video of takeoffs and landings of the early version, which lacked traditional landing gear.

The USAAF bombers came in at 25,000 to 28,000ft. Which of these aircraft would you like to fly?

The Germans did not have any form of two stage supercharging until they brought out the Junkers Jumo 213 pretty well at the very end of the war.

The article could have included a chart like this one, for instance, and added whatever data on the AR 234's performance that could be found.
