The B17 The Meltin' Pot crashes in Donegal, September 1942. The captain was William Melton.
Artifacts from the plane are housed in, The Greencastle museum In donegal, very near where the plane went down.

Wreckage of second World War plane discovered in Lough Foyle

A Donegal diving club has discovered the wreckage of a second World War B17 bomber plane in Lough Foyle.

I take it they didnt pull her up understanding the risks of being left with a B17 sized pile of Magnesium

Most of the Meltin' Pot wreck is till under the sand and gravel at sixty feet.
Only bits of her are at the Maritime Museum in Greencastle Donegal Ireland.
