Calthrop did indead "pioneer" early parachutes, but there were plenty before him. Great pics though, thanks for sharing them.
Just a bit of info on Parachute history...
Frenchman Louis-Sébastien Lenormand made the first successful recorded parachute jump in 1783, and coined the term Parachute.
Russian Gleb Kotelniko made the first "knapsack" Parachute in 1911.
Slovakian Štefan Banič was the first to start producing "pack" parachutes for wide spread use.
Calthrop started producing his during WW1.
In 1918 the Germans were the first to issue the standard parachute to its air force.
