This one has been bugging me for a while....
As far as I know, which isn't much, Lindisfarne was one of the wealthiest monasteries in England back in the day. When the Vikings attacked and plundered the Monastery in 793 A.D, why did they choose Lindisfarne? Did they already know about its wealth, if they did, WHO did they get that imformation from and why? It can't have been an attack of pure chance, or can it?
