It is quite guite nice model Jan, even made as the OOB. An exaggerated riveting and bad imitation of fabric covering of control surfaces. But fitting quite nice and the model is better than the ICM one.
As memo serves the Northern Fleet didn't use Mig-3s at the beginning of the German attack. Later there were moved squadrons with the planes from other regions.
An example is the MiG-3 of 2 GSAP at Vayenga airport in 1942. Only four MiGs of this unit survived at the beginning of 1942.
Other sources say that the BSF had 31 Mig-1/3s of the 8th IAP at the beginning of the war and there was stll in operational use one squadron ( the 7th IAP ) equipped with the Mig-3s in 1944.
On 22 June 1941, most MiG-3s and MiG-1s were in the border military districts of the Soviet Union. The Leningrad Military District had 164, 135 were in the Baltic Military District, 233 in the Western Special Military District, 190 in the Kiev Military District and 195 in the Odessa Military District for a total of 917 on hand, of which only 81 were non-operational. An additional 64 MiGs were assigned to Naval Aviation, 38 in the Air Force of the Baltic Fleet and 26 in the Air Force of the Black Sea Fleet.
Yep.. the difference could have been caused by planes that weren't in operational use because of overhaul for instance. In fact these were still on the squadron list but reports could omit them as unavailable and off readiness.

With the MiG-3 nit being used by the Northern Fleet, maybe that was more the domain of the Lagg and early Yak fighters then...
