Unknown marking on Stirling Bomber part

    I found this part of a Short Stirling with a for me unknown marking?

    I would guess it's an inspection stamp of some sort.

    It looks like the part is metal. I believe its actually a casting or forging mark, probably identifies the source of the raw material.
