Here is a pre-war Navy Lockheed XR4O-1 light transport. The model started out as an Airfix 1/72 Hudson with the turret removed and the cockpit modified. The aircraft ended up a station hack but paved the way for the larger R5O and PV series.

Very nice Ed! I wish there was a decent, reasonably-priced 1/48th scale kit of the Hudson - so many conversion possibilities.

No. I'm lazy. You can't see inside so I didn't see any reason to do any extra work there.

That looks really good, and a nice subject. Those twin engined Lockheeds were quite modern looking transport/passenger planes for the 1930s, and have a really iconic look to them.

I'm always working on ten to twelve models. The XRO-4 has been in progress for about six months. Putty,sand,putty,sand prime,putty etc. I may finish a couple and then go back to one. I have two on my workbench that have been in progress for over a year. It keeps me fresh. Whatever aspect of the hobby (building,sanding,painting etc) I am in the mood for is available when I want it. It also helps to be retired/disabled and have no real time constrictions. Add to all this my love of the hobby and a very understanding wife and you have it.
