Have just finished a terrific book called "War For The Hell Of It: A Fighter Pilot's View Of Vietnam" by Ed Cobleigh. First USAF pilot's account of this war that I have encountered and I highly recommend it. Cobleigh did two tours flying F4D Phantoms on day and night strikes out of Thailand with the 8th Fighter Group, "The Wolf Pack". This book is both humorous and very insightful and is a great read. Cobleigh was one of the first pilots to use PAVEWAY laser munitions and this section is most interesting. I'd be interested in knowing about other Vietnam pilots' accounts of their Vietnam experience. :)

Ed Rasimus wrote several books of the period, he flew both F-4's and F-105's.

"Fighter Pilot: Memoirs of Legendary Ace Robin Olds"
"Palace Cobra"
"Phantom Flights, Bangkok Nights: A Vietnam War Pilots Second Tour"
"When Thunder Rolled"

I can recommend them all, Palace Cobra and When Thunder Rolled are very good.

We lost Raz a few years back. I did not know him well, but had several conversations over the years with him. I know he had several other books planned and started, but no idea what happened to those after his death.

Also, if this is a subject / time period you have interest in, check out Dick Jonas music. His songs of the era, and general military aviation songs, are pretty good. He does some original works and a lot of classics.

T!
