Good day!

can someone help me to assign this German propeller blade (VDM) 9-12164-10 to an aircraft type?
At the moment I only have this one photo available.

Many thanks.

Tom

Thanks,

I have the same file, but 9-12164-10 is not listed in the VDM October 1941 edition.

here are two more pictures of the blades in question.

Hi Tom,
You should be pleased to hear that the base of the blade in your first picture Nr 9-12164.10 is a blade from the propellor for a Me 410 fitted with the DB603A engine. If you have pics of the base of the other blades or propellor components etc, I may be able to give you more details.

Cheers

Hello,
Thank you very much for that, I didn't expect an answer anymore. May I ask what this statement relates to, is there a document where this is noted? Thank you again.
Regards
Tom

Hi Tom,
This blade is 100% identified from the VDM Partslist. I would be interested in pics of the other blade numbers. I can help with other component numbers. Do you have the Hub as well or other parts from this aircraft? Overall, the Me410 was quite a good aircraft and fought a hard war. It is perhaps under recognised.

Hi Eng,
These two blades belong to a friend of mine. As far as I know they come from a crash site in the north of Austria, unfortunately more is not known. He doesn't have any other parts from this aircraft. As soon as I get better pictures from him of the stencilled numbers in red I'll share it with you.

One more question concerning another blade I have, 9-12087.10 (Assy 9-12087A) it should be from a Bf109 (F and/or G), but from which variant(s) exactly?
I would really appreciate your answer.

Cheers, Tom

Hi Tom,
The 9-12087.10 blade is very interesting as it might be one of the most produced blades of all time! The VDM manuals list this blade with applications from some Bf109F-4 (with rear cooler armour) as stated in the VDM doc, through almost all Bf109G versions with the DB605A. The exceptions listed by VDM are the versions with DB605A and GM1, that have the wider 9-12159.10 blades. The versions of the Bf109G/K with the DB605AS or D engines had the 9-12159.10 blades.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to be more precise where aircraft parts are lacking more specific provenance. However, your blade is a very historic piece of aviation history.
Cheers

Eng
