I believe this is N2453 of the 7th AOI, SouthWest front, when it was passed in september to Podporuchik Nyukyanen, and the previous personal markings were slightly altered to personalize them. The owl on the rudder was painted over and seems a Saint George Cross medal was painted in place, and the fine portrait of a woman with a sword on hand on the fuselage had just another red flag added.

1918 Barker's Revelation - Russell Smith....

Barker's Revelation depicts William Barker's victory over an Austrian scout near the Piave River in Italy on Sept. 18, 1918. The victim was Sergeant Ludwig Thaler of Flik 14D. As Thaler's Albatros began to burn he bailed out and deployed his parachute, a device which had only recently been introduced into the Austrian squadrons. The sight of the Austrian pilot floating safely to Earth helped to convince Barker that parachutes should be necessary equipment for all pilots.

"During the early part of 1918, as Class B and C finishes called for greater quantities of basic pigment materials, a shortage of P.C.10 pigments led to the use of a dark grey P.O.V. (Pigmented Oil Varnish), or other shades of grey, as an alternative to P.C.10; and some aircraft, by mid-1918, displayed a mixture of grey P.O.V. cowlings and plywood surfaces with Class B finish on the wings only."
