Hello everyone,
It's me again—I hope I'm not being too much of a bother.
I would like to know the function of this electrical component, which was removed from the wing of a German aircraft a very long time ago.

Hi,
This is the electric motor and pumping element of a German DBU aircraft fuel tank pump. These pumps were 24v DC operated and were immersed pumps that stood vertically in almost all German WW2 aircraft fuel tanks. The electric motor takes up about 3/4 of the cylinder that you show, which is about 25cm long. These pumps were all the same electric motor pump end at the bottom of the tank, with varying lengths of vertical delivery tube to match the depth of the tank. The shortest were on aircraft with shallow fuel tanks, where the depth was almost just the length of that motor, as in the Bf 109 G-12 trainer with just a shallow tank.
This was not a powerful pump, just enough to get pressurised feed at about 1.3Kg/cm pressure at zero flow.
The pump you show has been removed from its casing.
