Shown here is George Burges strapped into one of the Gladiator biplanes, ready to go at a moment's notice. Note that the starter battery is already plugged in. I should also be stated that these aircraft were actually Sea Gladiastors stripped of all unnecessary naval gear and fitted with three-blade instead of two-blade propellers.
