Although eventually replaced by the Focke-Wulf Fw 189 Uhu, the Hs 126 soldiered on over the Eastern Front with numerous Nahaufklärungskrupen (Short-range reconnaissance Groups), the aircraft shown served with 2./NAGr 12.
