Shown here are RAF Lightning Mk.1s on the Lockheed production lines. Only three Lightning Mk.1s were ever delivered to the RAF, the remainder of the contract was cancelled by the British. After completion all the other Lightning Mk.1s were taken over by the USAAF as P-322s and were used either as trainers or for research purposes.
