Shown here is the first MC 202 Folgore (Lightning) Serie III (MM7731) to be fitted with a four-gun armament installation; the standard nose gun armament of two 12.7 mm (0.5 in) Breda-Safat guns was retained but they were supplemented by a single 7.7 mm (0.303 in) Breda-Safat weapon in each wing. The yellow nose and spinner of this aircraft probably denotes its experimental status.
