Most likely a former French machine. The French purchased 230 aircraft (export version of the Companies BT-9 model) for their Air Force (200) and Navy (30). One hundred and eleven aircraft from an additional order for the improved BT-14 reached France before the capitulation of June 1940. The balance of the order (119 machines) being taken over by the British Government.
