Shown here is a trio of I-16 Type 24s belonging to the 4th Guards IAP. Of interest is the nearest aircraft which has underwing launching rails for six RS-82 rockets, unfaired undercarriage legs and the novel addition of a quilted engine cover. Note the 'Guards' emblem under the cockpit.
