Shown here is a Spitfire Mk.I of No.19 Sqd based at Fowlmere being re-armed during a lull in the Battle of Britain. Blown fabric patches show that the guns have been fired and the armourers are hard at work changing empty ammunition boxes. replacement boxes are in the wooden carriers.
